One-month visiting fellowships

Applications are invited from highly qualified scholars conducting research in a field relevant to one of the three tracks that make up the UCRS research agenda: State and Market, Identity Formation and Russia’s neighboring countries.

Visiting Fellows may be at various phases of their careers, from early stage post-docs to well established scholars. Applicants must hold a PhD degree or equivalent. Besides academic excellence, documented in a strong publication record, a key factor in selection is the potential for a research period to be mutually beneficial for both the visitor and for the UCRS. Visiting Fellows are expected to be active members of the UCRS research community.

Applications should consist of a concise CV and a project proposal, neither to exceed two pages.

The application deadline is February 13, 2017.

Please e-mail your application to the Research Director responsible for the respective track with a copy to the UCRS Information Officer Jevgenija Gehsbarga.

Visiting PhD scholarship

We encourage applications from doctoral students who are at least in the second year of their studies and have a clearly identified research topic. The research topic should be within a discipline covered by the UCRS. The PhD student must be based at an institution of higher education in Poland or one of the three Baltic States: Estonia, Latvia or Lithuania.

The primary purpose of the scholarship is to allow the selected doctoral student to get advantage of the multidisciplinary research environment of the UCRS, acquire new scholarly contacts, and work on his/her doctoral project. The research stay must take place during the spring semester of 2017. Exact period will be agreed upon with the successful applicant.

The application deadline is January 31, 2017.
