One of the key aims of UPTAKE is to raise the level of collaboration between consortium members by producing joint publications, new joint research projects and grant applications.
The first joint research project, focusing on Russian diasporas, was discussed at the UPTAKE workshop on March 15, 2016 in Narva, Estonia and at another workshop on December 15-16, 2016 in Uppsala, Sweden. Third UPTAKE workshop on “Ontological Status of Culture and Emotions in Politics and IR” took place on 21-22 April 2017 in Tartu, Estonia.
On 2-3 November 2017 another workshop, entitled “Whither Liberal World Order? Challenges from Russia, Eurasia, and Beyond”, took place. The fifth workshop “Ethnopolitics in Central and Eastern Europe in a State of Flux” was held on 9-10 February 2018. The final workshop in the framework of UPTAKE takes place on 19 October 2018 and is dedicated to “Democracy in Reverse:
Patterns of Autocratization in Eastern Europe and Eurasia”.
